Market Square

Project Overview

Luton BC came onto M&J to seek advice on the best waterproofing solution for the balconies. These had been suffering from water ingress and a number of different repairs were carried out before M&J were involved.

M&J proposed Alumasc’s Hydrotech Hot Melt system which provided both a suitable waterproofing system as well as a product that could be walked on 1 hour after installation – a key aspect given this was the only entrance into the apartments. Following the success of Phase 1, M&J were instructed on Phase 2 and have completed over £140k worth of waterproofing on this site to date.

As well as water tight roofs, the aesthetic finish of the balconies have been dramatically improved with new rubber tiles.

Nascot Wood School

Project Overview

This project was secured by M&J on a cost and quality analysis.

The project shows M&J’s ability to deal with multi-discipline refurbishment works on a live educational site.

These works were completed on time and within the client’s budget. The client was extremely happy with the end result, meaning that the school had additional space for the students, a new insulated roof covering as well as new windows for large sections of the school.

DS Smiths

Project Overview

This project comprised of stripping, re-decking and waterproofing 12,000m2 of an industrial unit all while keeping the building 100% watertight and debris free due to the nature of production in the building.

This was done using a combination of moisture matting and debris / safety netting and phased throughout the building to ensure minimum disruption.

M&J also installed a large number of barrel vault roof lights which significantly improved the natural light into the factory. All of these works totalled 17,300 man hours without a single H&S incident.
