Firstly thanks once again for your immediate response to my emergency call a couple of weeks ago to address a leak in the Day Surgery unit at SMH. It was essential that these repairs were carried out as soon as possible as part of the unit was being closed due to the increased H&S risk from the incoming water.

M&J Roofing have worked extremely well within the confines of the School Environment. They have kept the noise level down to a minimum with only works noise affecting us. They have been courteous and thoughtful about the deliveries, avoiding key times with lots of children on the playground. Whenever it has been unavoidable to work with the skylights during the school day, they have kindly worked around the movements of the children within school. The staff has been polite and respectful at all times.

Works were carried out efficiently and with little disturbance to the normal day-to-day routine of the school day. The roofing team worked long hours in all weathers and finished the roof in good time. I must say when this project was first discussed at the table. I was very sceptical at the proposed works, not removing the old felt and starting from scratch did not seem the way to go. I was watching for things to go wrong. But what a team, you surprised me. The guys working on the project were, hard working, well mannered, punctual and accommodating. The project was well organised and planed to a tee. Even when it rained they would continue working on something else. Although they were held up by the weather it is now all finished and looks great, clean and water tight. Even the new skylights make a vast difference internally letting in more light.

M&J Flat Roofing recently completed extensive roofing works to four of the school’s buildings. This was a major project for the school with strict deadlines and requirement about working times with the project being completed two months ahead of schedule. We would like to state that the staff at M & J Flat roofing were flexible and responsive to the needs of the school with excellent communication skills and site supervision. They also showed that safety of both staff and students around the site was a priority when considering their work schedule. There was daily communication between the school’s site team and their site manager and the works were organised so that disruption was kept to a minimum. I would not hesitate to work with M&J Flat Roofing again or recommend them to other establishments who were looking to have their roofs replaced.

Richard James presented a CPD presentation to the children on how to stay safe around construction works: Just writing to say a really big thank you for giving up your time last week in order to come and talk to the children of Hanborough Manor about your career. The children showed great interest in learning about the process, the materials and the labour involved in replacing our school roof. It was obvious from their questions and the length of time they kept you, that they were fascinated by your talk. The fact that you brought samples of materials and safety equipment for them to see really enhanced the visit.

I would like to thank you and your team for the professional service we received on the 2 Roofing projects at our school. The re-roofing of the admin block, the smaller of the two projects gave us the confident expectation of a high level of service in the re-roofing of the Science block. All contractors were pleasant and professional and work methods allowed for the smooth operation of the project during school hours. When work did place during term time, the team was flexible about where they worked and adjusted their plans to avoid noisy work during practical exam assessments. The fact that the Science project was completed before the return to school after the Easter holidays was much appreciated. All sub-contractors including the scaffolding team matched the same professionalism of M&J and I would like to make special mention of the team that re-instigated the fume cupboards.
