“High growth SMEs are the driving force behind the UK economy, developing the skills, jobs and growth we need. But ambition alone is not enough; their success must be highlighted and their growth properly supported with appropriate finance. That’s why today’s event is so important: demonstrating the strong alliance between UK Government, financial market participants, investors, entrepreneurs and companies to support these inspiring businesses.

“Today’s celebration is fundamental to London Stock Exchange’s core, the need to support UK high growth companies in their journeys from Start-up to Stardom and create an entrepreneurship revolution.”

Writing in the publication, The Rt. Hon. George Osborne MP said:

“UK high-growth businesses are leading the charge in rebuilding our economy. These companies are the backbone of the British economy. They create high-quality, well paid jobs, innovate and drive economic growth. This government fully understands the need to support ambitious entrepreneurs and ensure they can access the finance they need to grow.

“We have held the steadfast belief that –alongside deficit reduction – nurturing entrepreneurs, creating jobs, supporting hard-working families and keeping taxes low would get the UK economy back on track. Our measures to increase access to finance for business and encourage more investment have had a transformative effect on our economy.”

Glyn has a fresh perspective on our industry having worked Client Side and brings with him a broad range of experience, spanning heavy engineering, military, security and shopping centre operations management. M&J Group already have a strong client base in these sectors and Glyn will bring valuable experience in further developing these areas.  In particular we aim to assist our clients with establishing meaningful and well-structured long term maintenance plans, as part of our already established RAMP system (Roof Asset Management Plan), Glyn’s knowledge of how the retail sector operate PPM Service Charges and the like, will mean we can easily engage in the ‘FM-speak” and demonstrate how we can add value to these programs.

Beside his work life Glyn is an active sportsman.  A keen cyclist (qualified CTC mountain bike skills instructor), which is even more amazing given he has an above the knee leg amputation following an accident many years ago and is the only such disabled rider to have achieved this qualification.  He rides using a prosthetic leg known as the Bartlett Tendon Knee and is sponsored by the inventor Brian Bartlett.  Glyn extends his knowledge in this area regularly delivering seminars and riding courses to injured members of the Armed Forces and civilians alike.  His determination and aptitude will be a huge asset to M&J Group in so many ways and will enable us to extend our community offer further within existing sponsorships such as Teenage Cancer Trust.
