The M&J Group were appointed to undertake a full roofing upgrade across a residential block in Bedfordshire. The programme focused on delivering improved thermal performance, replacing ageing and hazardous roofing materials, and ensuring minimal disruption to residents throughout.
The works formed part of a wider asset improvement programme enhancing energy efficiency, long‑term durability, and compliance with current building regulations.
Insulation Upgrade to Comply With Modern U‑Values
The existing roof structure was stripped back to allow installation of upgraded insulation materials. This significantly improved the building’s thermal efficiency and ensured full compliance with current U‑value requirements, supporting reduced heating costs for residents.
Removal of Asbestos-Containing Roofing Materials
The project involved the safe removal and disposal of asbestos‑containing slates. All works were carried out in strict accordance with health & safety regulations, and licensed waste carriers were used for proper disposal.
Full Roof Replacement
Following removal, the roofs were rebuilt using high‑quality slate-effect tiles, providing:

Scaffold Erection & Site Safety
