Paterson Court

Project Overview

The project aimed to replace and upgrade essential roof elements to a listed building, requiring careful coordination with regulatory bodies and strict adherence to heritage conservation guidelines.

Project Scope

The project began with the complete removal of existing roof coverings, followed by the installation of a high performance breather membrane and graded battens. This was designed to enhance the roof’s durability and provide a stable base for the new tile installation.
New Plain Clay Tiles were carefully installed to preserve the building’s historical appearance. Specialised ridge tiles and valley tiles were selected to match the original style, and a traditional sand and cement mortar mix was used, ensuring both strength and authenticity.
Along with the installation of new led flashings and box gutters to match the existing lead features.

One of the main challenges of this project was working within the constraints of a listed building, which required continuous collaboration with the Local Council to secure necessary permissions and manage environmental impact, contributing to the project’s overall success.
